Scot Bihlman is an Emmy award winning musician, singer, songwriter, and published author. Scot was an athlete and a multi-instrumentalist, and he shared with MI,<\/p>\n
\n\u201cI actually started out on guitar\/vocals and started writing songs immediately as a kid…Drums took over after I got a drum set for my birthday. Living outside Chicago, classic rock had a huge influence on me, along with my dad\u2018s old school country music influence…I went to Musicians Institute in 1989.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n
As a graduate of Musicians Institute (PIT), Scot has backed, recorded, or appeared with: John Fogerty, Trey Anastasio (Phish), dUg Pinnick (King’s X), Ted Nugent, BB king, Pink, Ray Charles, Dido, Hank Williams Jr., ZZ Top, Jack Tempchin (Eagles), Robert Bradley, Tim Pierce (everybody!), and legendary Chicago Blues man Son Seals (WC Handy Award Winner).<\/p>\n
As a session musician, Scot has recorded at the legendary Master Link Studios (Nashville), Cherokee Studios and Ocean Way Studios (Los Angeles), and Ardent Studios (Memphis). Scot has had the pleasure of working with many of the industry\u2019s top producers, including Grammy Award winning producer Jim Gaines, Ken Allardyce (Goo Goo Dolls, Green Day, Weezer), and Bruce Robb of the legendary Cherokee Studios in Los Angeles.<\/p>\n
Scot has been featured in Guitar World Magazine, Rolling Stone, Blabbermouth, EXTRA, E! Entertainment, Red Carpet Roxy, Gig Magazine, Radio & Records, Music Connection (LA), and Traverse Magazine. Scot has written music programs for the National Guitar Workshop, and Workshop Live.<\/p>\n
Along with his brother, he has created music for use in TV shows such as Sons of Anarchy, All My Children, Burn Notice, and CBS documentaries. For their efforts, they\u2019ve won four Emmy awards.<\/p>\n
He\u2019s currently in the studio recording a new solo record with an all-star lineup with Doug Pinnick, Phil X, and recently recorded with American singer\/songwriter icon, John Fogerty, for the 50th anniversary Woodstock release. Scot credits MI for the emphasis on live performance and reading music, and he says,<\/p>\n

By far, that has been the most valuable skill for my success, especially being a session musician.
