He is a leading expert on the subject of intellectual property in relation to entertainment and the arts, often receiving expert witness testimony and special fiduciary requests. His academic background counts a Juris Doctorate degree from the University of California (Davis visiting Berkeley), a BA in Italian Film and film\/TV from the University of California (UCLA,) a paralegal degree and two certificates in business also from the University of California (Music Business from UCLA Extension and Business Law from the Berkeley Center for Law and Business).<\/p>\n
An entrepreneur at heart, he spent 12+ years negotiating, representing, and administrating entertainment contracts as a publisher, as a founder, or as a manager. After that, Andy worked for two law firms and numerous clients on the subjects of intellectual property law and business. He worked behind the camera in major motion pictures, as music consultant for independent films, and in-house with production companies such as Deline Pictures at Warner Bros and Playtone (Tom Hanks). Among his previous clients are record labels such as Side One Dummy, Kiefer Sutherland\u2019s Ironworks, and Matthew McConaughey\u2019s JK Livin\u2019.<\/p>\n
In 2016 \/ 2017 he was the legal researcher for the United Nations Special Rapporteur in Cultural Rights (Karima Bennoune, Esq.) and he has been an entertainment law and business professor for the last 6+ years at some of the most influential Southern California Universities. His legal research expands from the history of intellectual property to the most modern subjects between creativity and tech, such as AI.
